The first digital camera was invented in 1973 by a man named Steven Sannson, Steven Sannson was working for Eastman Kodak at that time. He had been given the job of seeing whether there was any practical implication of using a device called ‘Charged Coupled Device (CCD)’ for photography. The CCD was basically a small device that could read the light that would hit it and translate that into a charge that would be read by an electronic device that would then create a digital version. Steven Sannson faced a few problems when working on this project as you would expect but in the he managed to create the first digital camera as pictured below.
